FDOE visit Literacy Week


Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas Visits Madison County Central School to Celebrate Literacy Week


Madison County School District was proud to welcome Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas and members of his staff to Madison County Central School this week in celebration of Literacy Week, an annual event highlighting the importance of reading and lifelong learning.


During the visit, Commissioner Kamoutsas spent time with students and educators, reading in class and observing literacy-focused lessons designed to strengthen reading skills and foster a love of learning. Students enthusiastically participated in read-alouds and discussions, showcasing the progress they are making through the district’s literacy initiatives.

District and school leaders joined the Commissioner in recognizing the efforts of teachers, staff, and families who support literacy development both in and out of the classroom. Literacy Week activities included themed reading days, classroom projects, and opportunities for students to share their favorite books.


Madison County School District remains committed to strengthening literacy instruction and providing students with the tools they need to succeed. The visit from Commissioner Kamoutsas and his staff underscored the importance of collaboration between schools and state leadership in supporting student achievement.
