James Madison Preparatory High School (JMPHS) is a high-performing, public charter high school located in historic Madison, Florida. Named after the "Father of the Constitution," our school is deeply committed to providing a rigorous, college-preparatory education within a small, supportive, and family-like environment.

We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated Social Studies Teacher who is excited to bring history, civics, and geography to life for our student body. Key Responsibilities
* Instructional Excellence: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in high school Social Studies courses (including options like U.S. History, World History, Economics, and Florida-mandated Civics literacy).
* Critical Thinking: Guide students in analyzing primary sources, understanding historical context, and developing strong argumentative writing and civil discourse skills.
* Data-Driven Growth: Administer assessments, track student progress, and utilize performance data to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, preparing students for success on state assessments (like the Florida EOCs).
* Classroom Culture: Maintain a structured, positive, and respectful classroom environment aligned with our preparatory mission and code of conduct.
* School Community: Collaborate with a close-knit faculty team, communicate effectively with local families, and actively participate in school events or extracurricular student organizations.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
* Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies Education, or a related humanities field.
* Valid Florida Professional or Temporary Teaching Certificate in Social Science (Grades 6–12), or immediate eligibility to obtain it.
* Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Preferred:
* Experience teaching at the high school level, particularly within a charter school or college-preparatory environment.
* Familiarity with Florida State Standards and End-of-Course (EOC) exam expectations.
* Dual-enrollment certification or experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) courses is a major plus.
